MANISTEE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — A 70-year-old Kalamazoo woman was killed in a twist of fate on a motorcycle last week, according to the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office.
Nancy Hill, a motorcycle passenger, ran over a 69-year-old Munising man. The sheriff’s workplace said none of them were wearing helmets.
The sheriff said the crash happened at 6:10 p. m. at the intersection of Glovers Lake Road and Keillor Road.
The sheriff’s workplace said the motorcycle traveling westbound on Glovers Lake Road and the motorcyclist “failed to negotiate the 90-degree turn onto Keillor Road. “
When the motorcyclist lost control, Hill “was ejected from the motorcycle,” the sheriff said.
The sheriff’s office said Hill was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and that the Munising man was transported to Munson Manistee Hospital with “minor injuries. “
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.
