City police say a 39-year-old Barrie man was killed last night in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Ferndale Drive North near the city’s landfill.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene after the motorcycle he was riding veered off the road and “struck an object attached to a desk,” according to police.

The investigation, led through the department’s department, continues.

Investigators ask who witnessed the collision or have speed camera video to tap the investigating officer at [email protected].

Police said they are particularly attentive to any video or witnesses who may have observed a dark-colored four-door Subaru traveling in the left lane and a red motorcycle traveling in the right lane of the sidewalk, on Ferndale Drive North, near the front of the city’s landfill.

Police responded at 6:10 p. m. on June 12.

Ferndale Drive closed between Edgehill Drive and Benson Drive for an extended period.
