Avenue South Residences, a condominium assignment in Bukit Merah, is located in the world’s tallest prefabricated skyscraper.

The condo is two 192-square-meter high-rise buildings, which will have 56 floors, according to CNN.

There will be communal terraces on the 19th and 36th floors.

It is designed through Singapore-based ADDP Architects and is expected to be completed in 2023.

The skyscrapers will be erected along Silat Avenue, near the historic KTM Rail Corridor in District 3.

It is a 99-year leasehold property.

Prefabricated buildings

Today, the world’s tallest prefabricated skyscraper, Clement Canopy, is also located in Singapore.

South Avenue will outperform Clement Canopy when finished.

According to CNN, South Avenue buildings will see about 1,000 consisting of about 3,000 vertically stacked “modules”.

Individual modules are manufactured in a factory in Senai, Malaysia, before being transported to a facility in Singapore for installation and equipment. Then they move to the site.

CNN cited one of the company’s partner partners saying that this structure approach aimed to reduce noise and disruptions in the area.

Fewer people are also needed in the structure at any time, one more providence given the Covid-19 pandemic.
