A recently discovered KTM Adventure control mule has enthusiasts excited, as it may simply be the new 390 Adventure. Tested overseas, the KTM Adventure motorcycle features typical rally-inspired styling and sports a single-cylinder engine, which begs the question: is this the new KTM 390 Adventure?If so, here’s what you can expect.
The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure will be on the same platform as the new 390 Duke, a lattice frame with an aluminum subframe. This, along with the offset rear shock, allows KTM to offer more ground clearance on the Adventure while still keeping the seat height accessible.
Spy shots show typical adventure styling with an upright seating position, long-travel suspension and a windshield with built-in headlights, a design from the recently introduced 990 Duke and 1390. In addition, the upper front fender is new, giving the motorcycle a rally-like feel. inspired look.
The upcoming 390 Adventure will use the same 399cc single-cylinder that powers the Duke. The engine has seen an increase in stroke, giving it more displacement and power compared to the previous-gen’s 373cc engine. The 390 Adventure will get a six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter.
Based on the pictures, the 390 Adventure will get adjustable long-travel USD forks, an off-set rear shock, spoke wheels, LED lighting, a TFT dash, disc brakes at both ends and dual-purpose tyres.
On the electronics front, the new 390 Adventure should get the entire package from the 390 Duke, which includes lean-sensitive ABS, Traction Control, ride modes, phone connectivity, and more, while it could skip the launch control option.
