The 4xe uses a Wrangler’s 2. 0-liter turbocharged I-4 turbocharged PHEV engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Two electric motors and a 17 kWh battery are on deck. The actual power of its formula is 375 horsepower and 470 lbs. -feet of torque, making it a very rugged Wrangler that’s fun to drive on both straightaways and winding mountains.
The 0-60 is achieved in just under 7 seconds, so it’s not a rocket, however, the Wranglers were never to beat other people at the green lights; rather, it’s about traversing rough terrain and on the water, and having fun.
It’s smaller than a popular Wrangler, but not that small, and other tall people probably wouldn’t have any trouble getting in or out. The rear seats fold down and, as with any Wrangler, you can store/fill/fold/compress and take out. You pass with your surfboard, skis, or camping gear.
It even offers more handling than other Wranglers thanks to its heavy battery. Do you know how “off-road” Jeeps are when you first buy yours and you have to get used to it?None of that here. It’s not the most precise handling, but sure, that’s not why you buy a Wrangler.

A 12.3″ infotainment display size is plenty easy to see, and the Nav sys/Climate system worked well. The sound from the Alpine premium brand speakers, with it 552 watts stereo output. nine total speakers and one subwoofer, was rich and full and all sorts of awesome.
For environmentally conscious people, taking the 4xe down the river and through the forest will be a task that will generate less guilt. Put your powertrain on E-Save and move slowly to your heart’s content, even if you’re only getting 134 horsepower and 181 lb-ft. of torque. But climb those rocks quietly and don’t throw dirt into the sky.

I didn’t pass this off-road test because there was no position nearby to do it, but I did it last year in Atlanta in another Wrangler. The Jeep will handle anything you throw at it. The dog may not like it, but you and the kids will surely like it.
