Jeep has announced that production of the 2024 Gladiator has finally begun, and the truck is headed to the assembly line at the Stellantis assembly complex in Toledo, Ohio. Built alongside its Wrangler sibling, the Gladiator has been revised for the 2024 model year, receiving several significant updates to make it look and feel fresh.
“More than 5,400 UAW painters at the Toledo Assembly Complex bring their expertise, commitment and love of painting every day to introduce the all-new 2024 Jeep Gladiator to our consumers around the world,” said Bill Peffer, director of Jeep North America. .
Parent company Stellantis faced a lot of pressure from the UAW in 2023, and the union didn’t get easy raises for its members. The automaker agreed to across-the-board increases of more than 33%.
Jeep has made some notable tweaks for MY2024. It may not be the most exciting thing, but the enhanced protection features are arguably the most important. Side curtain airbags in the first and second rows are now popular across the range, as are pretensioners and force limiters for the exterior second-row seat belts. With the exception of the Sport trim, all models also feature forward collision warning and complex cruise control.
Other upgrades include new wheel models, a revised seven-slot grille and a new 12. 3-inch touchscreen with Uconnect Five software. It’s no more responsive than before, but it also has new features like over-the-air map updates. , Jeep adventure guides, and Bluetooth connectivity for two cellular devices.
Jeep has also added higher-capacity Mojave X and Rubicon X versions to the Gladiator lineup, while the base value has fallen below $40,000.
The only engine option for 2024 is the 3. 6-liter V6 engine, mated to a popular six-speed manual transmission. An automatic can be specified. EcoDiesel has been discontinued for 2024, but those who care about fuel consumption may not have to wait much longer to get their hands on the Gladiator 4xe hybrid.
Buyers of the newest Gladiator will be pleased to know that they can outfit their rugged trucks with manufacturer-approved American Expedition vehicle packages. These come with off-road-enhancing perks such as a two-inch lift suspension and 37-inch BFGoodrich. all-terrain tires, among others.
If that doesn’t convince you to sign on the dotted line, it’s worth noting that there are several deals available at Gladiators MY2023 if you can work and shop.
With production of the 2024 Gladiators underway, we expect the new styling to hit dealerships any day now.
