2024 Infiniti QX55 Gets Subtle Upgrades and a $50,000 Starting Price

Infiniti has released prices for the 2024 QX55 crossover SUV, the Japanese brand’s prices for the BMW X4 and Mercedes GLC Coupe.

Buyers interested in the QX55 will have to shell out at least $50,000 for the entry-level Luxury AWD model, the cheapest of the three styles. The base styling is generously supplied with LED headlights, a forced sunroof, leather upholstery and eight-way heating. Forced front seats. Dual-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also part of the package.

The Essential AWD styling, at $54,950, occupies the mid-range range. This style represents the price for cash in diversity and builds on the already impressive features of the Luxe. The Essential variants get a 16-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, a heated guide wheel, cubic-designed LED headlights and a navigation system.

Changes in the 2024 style year include a wireless charger, tailgate alert, and an updated center console design with new cup holders and a revised shifter.

The highlight of the QX55 range is the Sensory trim level. Priced at $58,500, the model features sleek black open-pore natural maple wood inlays, three-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a head-up display, and heated rear seats. While this style has all the niceties one could want, the roughly $60,000 value is a bit high, especially when you consider that the same engine powers all QX55 styles.

And consumers might struggle to pay $58,500 for a 2. 0-liter turbocharged engine mated to a frequently variable transmission. The engine makes 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to all 4 wheels via the CVT. That’s more than the BMW X4 xDrive30i, but the Bimmer makes up for the power deficit with a more than eight-speed automatic transmission.

The new GLC coupe has less power but produces more torque than the Infiniti. The Benz is similarly priced and also has a nicer cabin. Let’s not say that Infiniti also offers a more practical QX50 with a more attractive starting value of $40,850.

The QX55 has the unique advantages of Infiniti Premium Care, a maintenance plan that provides 36 months or 22,500 miles of coverage, including tire rotation and oil changes.

Infiniti launched the QX55 in late 2020 (as a 2022 model) and hasn’t brought very extensive updates since. We expect the crossover to receive a welcome update in the coming months, especially as the company plans to revitalize itself with new perspectives and refreshed models.
