The reconditioned 2024 Hyundai Sonata arrived in Australia priced at $55,500 plus road costs, which is $3,435 more than the styling it replaces.
Despite the drop in sales, for what is already niche styling in Australia since the existing styling arrived in 2021 only in the high-performance N Line form, Hyundai has kept the Sonata sedan alive with an exterior, interior and generation update.
The N Line remains the only style available, with a 2. 5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 213 kW/422 Nm driving the front wheels and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The value has increased from $3,435 to $55,500, plus highway prices, estimated at around $60,000 for the car, depending on the state or territory in which the vehicle is registered.
New to the facelift are the redesigned front and rear fascias, with low LED headlights and a full-width front light bar that Hyundai calls a “horizontal position lamp,” as well as redesigned 19-inch alloy wheels.
Red paint has returned to the color palette after being quietly removed in recent years, in addition to the glossy finishes Serenity White, Biophile Ink, Abyss Black, and Nocturne Grey (some require an additional $595) and matte Aero Silver ($1,000 more). . ).
Inside, the Sonata adopts Hyundai’s newest infotainment technology, combining a 12. 3-inch touchscreen (previously 10. 25-inch) with a 12. 3-inch virtual tool on a curved panel that spans much of the dashboard.
The infotainment screen runs Hyundai and Kia’s new ‘ccNC’ software, with updates for over-the-air and car installations connected to Bluelink from another major smartphone app. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with cable and built-in sat nav remain.
The gear selector has been moved to a “strip” on the column – which now features a newly designed wheel, with a four-point trend that is the letter “H” in Morse code – thus freeing up space in the centre console. . .
Other new features include traffic sign recognition, low-speed autonomous rear emergency braking, tire tension loss monitoring, a touch-sensitive weather panel, ambient interior lighting, forced trunk lid, and USB-C charging ports.
The 2024 Hyundai Sonata N Line is now available in showrooms across Australia.
Note: All of the above costs exclude road costs.
