The highly anticipated 2023 five-door Suzuki Jimny was taken without camouflage in what appears to be a photo shoot or promotional videos in India.
Images posted online of the undisguised five-door Jimny for the first time, just a month before Suzuki unveiled the vehicle at a car show in India, according to local media.
Drive understands that the five-door edition may hit Australian showrooms by the end of 2023.
Suzuki Australia declined to comment on long-term product plans.
Much of the car’s design seems to have been inherited from the three-door model, but the five-door wheelbase would have been lengthened from 300mm to 2550mm, allowing for a moment a row of occupants and offering some luggage space.

While engine features have been confirmed, the five-door Jimny will most likely take over the existing 1. 5-liter non-turbocharged three-door style four-cylinder engine that went on sale lately in Australia.
Four-speed automatic transmissions and five-speed manuals are expected, with 75kW/130Nm sent to all 4 wheels.
Several previous reports have reported that Suzuki is developing a hybrid edition and that it is possible that it will be presented at a later date.
It’s unclear that five-door Jimny models for the Australian market will either be made in Japan as for the three-door version, or manufactured in India, a country where Suzuki has long held a market share of around 50%. All new cars sold.

There doesn’t appear to be an additional badge on the rear of the car, meaning the new styling can be known simply as the five-door Jimny, or adopt a special variant name.
The photographs also show that almost part of the rear wheel arch wideners will be attached to the rear doors.
Although not shown through the company, reports from India expect the 2023 five-door Suzuki Jimny to be able to make its world debut at the Auto Expo car show in India in mid-January, with local deliveries scheduled to begin in late 2023.
