The 2021 Toyota Camry will be more technical than ever.
If you need some flavor on your Camry, sportier SE and XSE grades are an option. By 2021, they feature a bolder diminishing fascia design with honeycomb inserts. In addition, the new logo for next year of style is a hybrid XSE style, which delivers incredible power and added style.
Interestingly, one thing has been removed by 2021. The fundamental L note no longer exists. The Camry LE will now serve as an entry-level model. In total, another 17 variants of this car will be offered, 3 models with a V6, five with a 4-piston engine and front-wheel drive, five more with the same powertrain and all-wheel drive, plus 4 other shadow hybrids.
The Camry TRD sporty style has also been refined. Introduced by 2020, its design has almost everything for an exclusive combination of two-tone paint, Ice Edge with a Midnight Black Metallic ceiling.
In terms of driving assistance technology, the Camry 2021 is the first style to take advantage of the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 Plus, which offers several new features. The pedestrian detection pre-collision formula can now recognize daytime cyclists and pedestrians in low light conditions in addition to other vehicles. This formula also includes something called intersection support, which can improve protection when driving in the city. By turning left, you can trip over on approaching traffic, cause an audible or visual alarm, and even automatically brake in safe conditions to avoid an unsightly frontal collision. Beyond all this, Toyota engineers have added something called emergency guide assistance, which can help stabilize the vehicle in its evasive manoeuvres in the travel lane, for example by avoiding a cyclist or other vehicle.
Toyota’s updated adaptive cruise control formula has been advanced one step further with a feature that makes it less difficult to overtake other vehicles. If you are stuck in slower traffic, you can turn on the flasher and when it starts in the other lane, it will start automatically accelerating to the preset speed to make overtaking smoother.
Camry will now have two other infotainment screen sizes.
As expected, the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 Plus also includes lane departure caution and assistance to maintain the lane. Automatic traffic lighting accessories and road signage popularity are also provided.
A rear seat reinforcement function also arrives at the Camry by 2021. As with similar systems from other automakers, it’s designed to prevent you from forgetting everything in the car, whether it’s a package, a computer bag or something much more critical, like a puppy or a sleeping child
To complement the driving assistance generation of this sedan, blind spot tracking with rear cross-traffic alert is the popular rate on the XSE and XLE models. In the decrease of the LE, SE and SE Nightshade ranges, it is now an option. As for the TRD sports model, blind spot tracking with rear cross-traffic alert and heated-looking mirrors is now a component of popular equipment.
The novelty of the last year of style is a pair of floating displays of information and entertainment. The popular touchscreen measures 7 inches, the top point watches offer nine inches more generous. After trying this larger screen in the SUV plug-in 2021 RAV4 Prime, it is quite nice, with a large screen, which makes the icons big and very easy to handle. For added flexibility, even the fundamental information and entertainment formula is compatible with Apple CarPlay, support for Amazon Alexa and even Android Auto.
Minor interior changes to the Camry include some new trims. Once again, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat is standard across the model range while ventilated front chairs are offered on XLE and XSE models, something that can be a godsend in sweltering summer weather.
The Camry 2021’s design settings are subtle.
When it comes to nuts-and-bolts enhancements, there’s not much to report. The Camry’s base engine remains a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with, depending on model, up to 206 horsepower. For drivers that want a little more juice, a smooth-running 3.5-liter V6 is once again on the menu, brandishing 301 hp. Both of these engines are matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission, though all-wheel drive is only offered with the base I4. A North America-only combination, AWD expected to account for around 15% of Camry sales.
Of course, a Camry hybrid is once again available. Its powertrain is centered around a 2.5-liter engine, which is augmented by a pair of motor-generators. Here, total system output clocks in at 208 hp. The hybrid Camry should deliver performance that’s similar to what the base engine provides, though you’re probably not getting a gasoline-electric vehicle for maximum driving engagement. Fuel efficiency is what counts here and this Camry does not disappoint. In entry-level LE guise, expect an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, 53 mpg on highway trips and 52 mpg combined. SE, XLE and XSE hybrid models are slightly less efficient. They’re rated at 44/47/46 mpg, respectively.
The existing Toyota Camry is a charming midsize sedan. A renewed look and increased assistance generation by 2021 this circle of four-door relatives maintains its business leadership. Production is expected to begin in October and examples are expected to begin reaching dealerships in a later time. The value has not yet been announced, but will probably be very similar to the 2020 model, which starts at around $25,000 and changes, adding destination fees.
