Most reminders are quite simple. However, you meet the Roadshow workplace and there’s so much more, well, there. The latest recall of the Fiat Chrysler car market is sure to fall into this category.
In documents released last week through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the FCA said it would remove 925,239 cars because guide wheel badges can “projectiles.” As in the event that the airbag is deployed, the Dodge of Chrysler badge can fly and potentially injure a passenger. As of June 30, the CFA said it was aware of 14 injuries that would possibly be similar to this problem.
The affected models are the 2008-2010 Chrysler Town-Country, the 2008-2010 Dodge Caravan and the 2007-2011 Dodge Nitro. Either the guide wheel emblem can be detached and thrown at passengers, or if it has already fallen, the lock nuts in the airbag module can be a hazard and shoot the occupants in the event of a collision. In any case, no one wants the items to fly over them in the event of an accident.
Fortunately, FCA already has a solution for nearly one million cars. Owners must bring their Town-Country, Caravan or Nitro to a dealership where they will get a redesigned airbag cover for free. Then everything will remain in position without having to worry about unwanted projectiles.
Those affected will get a delivery by mail from August 26.
