NEW YORK (AP) — Two 20-year-old New Jersey men are charged with a hit-and-run crash in a stolen vehicle that seriously injured a pedestrian.
Since this weekend’s crash, a 54-year-old Union City man has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, Hudson County District Attorney Esther Suarez confirmed.
Westfield resident Samuel Collazo and Western New York resident Rylan Cook-Figueroa were arrested Wednesday.
Police said Collazo was the driver and Figueroa a passenger in the crash, Suarez said.
The Western New York Police responded to Bergenline Avenue and 57th Street on August 17 at approximately 3:40 p. m. M. and discovered the victim.
Collazo and Cook-Figuera had fled the scene, Suarez said.
Investigators discovered that the motorcycle had already been reported stolen.
Collazo was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle twist of fate resulting in serious physical injury, endangering an injured victim, receiving stolen property and unlawful taking.
Cook-Figuera was charged with endangering an injured victim and illegal drinking.
