The convenient hybrid formula markets the kinetic energy generated through braking and combines a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo engine, a 48-volt alternator and an electronic supercharger to produce 330 horsepower. The Ghibli Hybrid has a capacity of 0 to 62 mph in just 5.7 seconds. A rear-mounted battery helps distribute weight evenly, which has been reduced by 80 kg to the popular diesel model.
Maserati plans to electrify all new models, with the GranTurismo and GranCabrio all electric next year.
The Ghibli Hybrid also features the new Maserati Connect system, which frequently monitors car connectivity and automatically checks for software updates. A 10.1-inch multimedia demo is based on Android Automotive and is fully customizable according to the driver’s non-public preferences.
A special blue exterior paint distinguishes the hybrid, a color palette that extends to the look of air ducts and brake stirrups. A new grille and redesigned taillights complete the hybrid treatment.
