Miami Art Week is almost here. What began as Art Basel, an annual art fair that travels to Miami each December, Miami Art Week has grown exponentially and is now comprised of dozens of art fairs, pop-up galleries, and artist-inspired events and activations. each and every one of the corners of the Magic City. This year, the festivities have been postponed for a week and will take place from December 7 to 10.

Shake Shack Partners with Acclaimed New Chef’s Best Food Award Winners

Mandarin Oriental Miami will partner with Art Angels Gallery and Miami-based artist Christopher “Flore” Florentino, a New School artist, as the hotel transforms into an exhibition of his colorful “urban cubism” paintings. Flore’s paintings—adding pieces created exclusively for the hotel and La Mar through Gastón Acurio—will showcase assets throughout immersive dining experiences.
The MO Bar Lounge team and Flore have conceptualized 4 signature cocktails inspired by their modernist style, adding their “Best in Show” piece created especially for the hotel and which will stand out on the main wall of the bar.
In Gastón Acurio’s Sea, several works of art will be exhibited, including Flora’s masterpiece entitled “Love, Light and Peace” and “The Radiant Child”; in addition, a painting created exclusively for the restaurant called “Sentimental Value”. In a true synchronicity of decorative and culinary arts, Executive Chef Diego Oka will create three dishes inspired by Flore’s works. This exclusive acquisition promises an evening filled with meticulously crafted cocktails that will transport guests’ taste buds from Montreal’s bustling cocktail scene to Miami’s sunny beaches. The event, co-hosted by Kate Boushel, Director of Beverage and Education at Atwater Cocktail Club, and Naren Young, Director of Beverage at Sweet Liberty, will feature a variety of specially curated cocktails that combine the signature styles of both establishments. Sushi | Bar Miami Beach will feature a special collaboration with Miami-based summary painter and combined media artist Sara Schroeder.
